"I downloaded Penguins meet Mr. Flappy for my five year old daughter's ever growing kindle collect. She really enjoys real life animal books. My daughter really enjoyed this book mostly because of the pictures of the "cute Penguins." This book has beautiful detailed pictures, and interesting exciting facts about penguins. This book would be appropriate to use as a picture book with younger children just talking to them about the pictures, and for more advanced patient listeners it would be great for them because the facts on each page are only one to two sentences long. I would say a child with an advanced second to Third grade reading level could be successful with reading this book independently. This would be a great book for a school project like a book report. This book talks about where penguins can be found, what they eat, how they swim and where they swim, about the responsibilities of penguin parents, some fun facts about their bodies like their ears and how they are able to camouflage themselves, It gives facts about the emperor penguin, the blue penguin, and the king penguin. The book talks about their mating and social behaviors. All in all a fun fact filled book with awesome pictures deserves the five star rating for sure!!!

Penguins do have wing-bones, though they are flipper-like and extremely suited to swimming. Thank you!!!! - I am a huge fan of penguins, they are my absolute favorite bird, so I was so excited to get my hands on a digital copy of Penguins - Meet Mr. Flappy Feet. It might just be me but the title left a bit to be desired here, it is too close to the movie Happy Feet for my liking, but it's semi cute and goes along with the theme of other books in this series about hippos, whales, and pandas.
One negative I will point out in this book, and it's a small one, is that the font is very unusual. When making books for early readers I tend to think a fairly standard font is best so as not to confuse the reader with strangely formed letters. However, I got over that distraction rather quickly after I spotted page after page of adorable penguins. Another nitpicky thing, the penguin was measured in centimeters and then pounds. Pick one measurement center or both, I don't care, but it would have been easier for this girl if the penguin was measured in feet and inches since that is how I visualize measurement. There is also an s missing on the word species on the page discussing the king penguin.
Despite this the book was really adorable and fun. I think penguin lovers of all ages would agree that this is a keeper.
